could someone tell me the difference in performance between a cold air intake.. and a short ram intake?.. and also.. the difference in performance between the AEM V2 and the regular AEM intakes~ thanx

wtf...you're alive! haha...j/k

from what i've read and all the dyno charts my young eyes have seen, performance is negligible although a CAI usually yields more power. reason being CAI is sucking in cooler air.

all this varies from car to car as i've seen dynos that range from almost no difference to a significant difference.

as for AEM V2 and their regular intakes, supposedly the V2 provides better performance because of its design (the use of sound waves to help carry move air more efficiently). dynos show that there is some gains.
check out http://www.aempower.com/product_reviews.asp for more independent reviews on AEM stuff.

short ram and cold air have very little performance change

in my opinon, go short ram, save u the problem of hydro locking

intakes give very little HP alone, you can hardly notice the increase power

V2 sounds very promising

i got the weapon r secret weapon, as it uses a dual pipe to increase vaccum suction. It works, but i dislike it... will go back to my stock box... for a bit

cold air also leans more towards high end power

while short ram leans more toward low end
...the little toaster that could (thus beginning this story) went along and BOOM!...

yup!

correctamundo dude
hydrolock barely happens, let alone for an acura the distance of the piping is so long that it would require you to rev your car close to redline for approximately 10 seconds for a single droplet to get into your engine, and when they single droplet does, its no biggie becuase the second that droplet ends up in the cylinders, it will vapoorize, and actually would give you a bit more HP

u can hydrolock any motor. Just need to go over big puddles.
if u do get ANY cold air intake, please get the bypass valve for it.
They tested it on an NSX motor with the filter submerged in a fish tank.

It works!
